Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned grappler, our structured classes in both Gi and No-Gi provide technical instruction, live drilling, and rolling (sparring) in a safe, supportive environment. We emphasize practical skills, discipline, and resilience—on and off the mats. For those interested in testing themselves further, we also offer dedicated competition classes to help you prepare for local and national tournaments. What happens in a typical class?
Each class includes warm-ups, movement drills, technique instruction. Class ends with live rolling (sparring) in a safe, controlled way.
Who teaches the classes?
Our instructors are experienced martial artists and active competitors. They bring a high level of skill, dedication, and real-world insight to every class—creating a challenging yet supportive environment where students can sharpen their technique, build confidence, and grow both on and off the mats.
How does one progress?
Belts and stripes are earned based on effort, attendance, skill development, and attitude. Promotions are designed to encourage growth—not pressure. (See Belt and Stripe Progress Below)
What gear do I need?
A uniform (gi) with belt is typically required. Some classes may also use rash guards, spats, and mouthguards,
How often should I train?
Most adults attend 2-3 classes per week. Regular attendance helps reinforce skills and build confidence.
Will I feel welcome?
Absolutely. Our gym is a friendly, inclusive space where every one is encouraged, respected, and supported. We’re more than a martial arts school—we’re a community.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Uniform & Gear

You will need a jiu jitsu gi (uniform) for most classes. We recommend starting with one gi.

Optional but encouraged: rash guard,(White Rank to start) and spats (worn under the gi and during no gi training), mouthguard (for advanced levels), water bottle, glides, slipper or sandles. (barefeet and sock are not allowed off the mat)

Arrival & Class Etiquette

Please arrive early so your child can get settled and dressed.

You should enter the mat barefoot and with clean uniforms. (No barefeet or socks off the mat)
Hygiene & Safety

Clean uniforms, trimmed nails, and good hygiene help prevent injuries and illness.

If you are sick or hace any skin issues, please wait until you are fully healed before returning.

International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Graduation System
To advance in rank, students earn up to four (4) stripes on their current belt before being eligible for promotion. Belt and stripe promotions typically occur every six months. Promotions may be accelerated or adjusted at the discretion of the coach.
